Liupanshui is located in the west of Guizhou Province and on the first and second platform slopes of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is the third largest city in Guizhou Province, the main base of the country's power transmission from west to east, and an important node city in the economic belt of South, Guizhou and Kunming in the large-scale development of the western part of the country.

Zexi Nuo Opera

From the third day of the first lunar month to the third day of March, Yi compatriots from Liuzhi Zhaoxi Township performed Nuo opera in the village to sacrifice gods and drive out ghosts.

The Nuo mask, which integrates gods, ghosts and people, is vivid and has a prominent character.

Every performance, the audience is enthusiastic and lively.

Flower-picking cave

From the first to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year, thousands of Miao compatriots in Skickboard Village and neighboring counties gather in front of a hole on the east side of the village to sing love songs, play Lusheng and straight Xiao, and sing while playing, and people's heads are surging.

Many young men and women fall in love in this way, looking for a partner, hence the name "picking Flower Cave".

Jumping Flower Festival

On the fifteenth day of the second month of the lunar calendar, Sankoutang, Nankai Township, Shuicheng County, holds the most festive traditional festival of the local Miao nationality (Xiaohuamao) compatriots-"Tiaohuapo".

At that time, thousands of Miao compatriots will gather here, dressed in costumes, singing and dancing, to celebrate their own festival.

This is one of the largest ethnic festivals in Guizhou Province.

Changjiao Miao nationality

In the high mountains at the junction of Liuzhi Special Economic Zone and Zhijin County, there lives a strange branch of the Miao nationality-the Changjiao Miao nationality.

They live in seclusion in the mountains about 2000 meters above sea level all the year round, live a mysterious and ancient tribal life, have little contact with the outside world, and still completely preserve and continue a Miao cultural tradition symbolized by long horns in 2014.

What makes it unique is that the woman wears a large comb shaped like a long horn on the top of her head, with two corners higher than both sides of the top of the head, with hair weighing 4kg around the corners.
