Liupanshui has a mild climate, no severe cold in winter and no hot summer in summer. Liupanshui is located in the transitional zone from the central Guizhou plateau to the eastern Yunnan plateau and from the hills of Guangxi to the northwest Guizhou plateau, with an average elevation of 1750 meters above sea level. Spring begins before March 16 and ends on November 5 every year. Spring and autumn are connected, and there is no "summer" in weather and climatology.

The annual average temperature is 13 ℃-14 ℃, while the annual average temperature in Guizhou is 23 ℃. In July, when the temperature of Liupanshui is the highest, the average temperature is only 19.8 ℃, which is called "Liangdu" by meteorologists. It is a rare summer resort in low latitudes.
